Completing this color correction exercise changed the way I see video editing. Before this, I didn’t pay much attention to how subtle changes in color could shape the entire mood of a scene. While editing the Lalin footage, I realized how each shot had its own lighting challenges, and matching them together felt like solving a visual puzzle. The moment everything finally looked consistent was incredibly satisfying.
This project also pushed me to explore the Lumetri tools more confidently. Instead of guessing, I learned to read the scopes and understand the technical reasoning behind each adjustment. It made me appreciate how color grading is both an artistic and technical process. In the end, this exercise strengthened my editing skills and made me more detail-oriented, especially when working with visuals that require consistency.

Final Outcome:
Creating this movie trailer helped me understand how visual choices, audio, and editing rhythm must work together to deliver strong emotions in a short amount of time. Throughout the process, I learned how important it is to select the most meaningful shots, maintain a clear narrative flow, and ensure that transitions and music effectively build tension and curiosity. I also realized the value of keeping a consistent tone and storytelling direction, because a trailer is not just a collection of scenes but a compact story meant to capture the audience’s attention quickly. This experience made me more aware of technical details such as pacing, color tone, and audio placement, and it showed me how essential proper planning is when shaping a compelling trailer. Overall, this project strengthened my confidence in video editing and will serve as a valuable foundation for future trailer or promotional video work.
