Creating this artwork was both a joyful and rewarding experience. I aimed to combine the warmth and playfulness of a Shiba Inu with a bright and cheerful landscape to evoke feelings of happiness and positivity. The use of a scenic countryside background added a peaceful atmosphere, while the vibrant yellow overlay and stylized grass gave the composition a bold, graphic quality.
One of the key decisions I made was to have the Shiba Inu wear a red scarf with floral patterns, which added a personal, charming touch and helped the subject stand out from the softer background. I also experimented with layering and contrast, using warm tones and a clear foreground-background separation to give the piece depth and focus.
Through this piece, I practiced visual balance, color harmony, and thematic consistency. I’m especially happy with how the composition feels playful yet well-structured. Moving forward, I’d like to explore more dynamic interactions between characters and backgrounds, and perhaps add motion or interactive elements in future iterations.
Overall, this artwork reflects my growth in digital illustration and my ability to translate a mood or emotion through visual storytelling.
